Chapter 89: End of Discussion

Sapphire squinted her eyes while trying to open it, opening her eyes with half vision made the whole room look like it was made of only white objects.

Was this what heaven looks like? Was this the legendary white light you see? Sapphire hoped with every single fiber in her body that it was but her hope was shattered when she started hearing that damning beeping sound.

She had been in too many hospitals recently that if she heard this sound a mile away, she would recognize it.

Her eyes flew open and she looked around, she was in a private ward with white walls, nothing like the crowded public hospital that her uncle had his thugs drag her to, where they were all separated by curtains.

This hospital gave her privacy, but not quite the one she needed, the best privacy she could get right now is the one that your grave gives to you.

She felt tears gather in her eyes, she had to use all the courage she could get to jump over that damn bridge, shy save her?

The door opened but she didn't bother to raise her head, she wasn't curious about anything.

'A woman saw you floating over the water and rushed to you, she called for help and people rushed to help to the dry land, a doctor happened to be passing by at that time and performed the immediate treatment you needed on you and then you were rushed to the hospital and given a private room because the doctor asked for it." The doctor said and stopped in front of her, he checked her vitals and turned to face her.

'That doctor is me and I am that doctor," he finished and Sapphire raised her head to stare at the man, she didn't know why she wasn't surprised when she saw that it was that doctor that took care of her the day she almost her kid and the day she lost one, she referred to him as the good doctor in her head.

'Why did you pin me in this damn world, why didn't you let me go? I wanted to go and meet my babies, why did you hold me back?"

'Sapphire…" he said but she wasn't hearing anything.

'The damn relationship with the man made me loose almost everything I ever had, my fucking sister decided that it would be in my best interest if I became an outcast and my best friend would love nothing than to see me away from this world, my family cherished money and reputation more than my life and I have been cheated out of the only thing that can give me happiness, and what? Should I remain here and continue living? No thanks!" She basically vomited.

The doctor didn't flinch, instead, he sat beside her on the bed and took her hand in his and watched her cry her eyes out.

'You should love yourself Sapphire,"

'Too bad, I am not my taste right now," Sapphire said deprecatingly and the man stared at her in disbelief. 'You are a doctor right? I am sure that you have some kind of drugs that can kill me, can you inject or give me one of those?"

'My heart went out to you Sapphire, because I kind of could relate to your situation, you know.."

'I don't want to know," Sapphire interrupted rudely.

'I used to have a beautiful wife, a member of the high society that I was part of myself, she is beautiful and a ball of happiness," he continued like she didn't just interrupted him. 'Everything was good and all rainbows, we had a very beautiful daughter, our ball of sunshine. Until she had a miscarriage, she was pregnant," he said with a sad smile and Sapphire raised her head to stare at the man and the amount of anguish he saw there made tears come to her eyes as she remembered the anguish she felt when she lost her babies.

'The pain made her go insane. I put her in a mental hospital in order to help her, so I was left with the responsibility of taking care of my daughter, our daughter. We were living well and she was beginning to get better until our daughter went missing, my wife committed suicide the day we both learned that she went missing, I never saw my baby and the police closed the case."

Sapphire raised her head to stare at the man and she saw the beginning of tears in his eyes, his eyes were sparkling with unshed tears and told sorrow, how bad would his nightmares be?

'How do you still manage to breathe?"

'The way you managed to hold on till now, I am not living, I am just passing by, time stopped for me the day my wife died and daughter went missing but even if they are both dead, they wouldn't want me to come to meet them without fulfilling a thing or two, parts of the promises we made together,"

'You didn't try to die?"

'I tried all, I cut, I tried jumping off the bridge, tried the rope thing, also drank poison, none of these worked but one thing was certain," he said and Sapphire stared straight into his eyes. 'I managed to go missing like my daughter, I lost myself."

'You.."

'You are not going to lose yourself Sapphire, I won't let you do that, I know how uninteresting it makes living to be, so here is what would happen. You are flying out of this country today,"

'But.."

'I would arrange it all and you would choose wherever you want to be, I would like if it is somewhere you can cut yourself from what is happening in this hellhole and makes it difficult for them to find you. You won't let anybody from your family know about it since they caused all these and you would settle down comfortably," He said and Sapphire stared at him before nodding.

What harm can he bring to her? Worst is to let her be killed like he wants, the man isn't even proposing his involvement in whatever decision she makes, he just wants her out and away.

'Okay, I would do that." She said and the man nodded with a bright smile.

—---------------------

Sapphire Conrad ran away from home because her family tried to lead her the right way, she didn't want to go to rehabilitation, after all the secrets of her addiction leaked, she fled from the center and no one knows where she went.

Melissa scoffed when she saw the news, no one knew where the hell she went to, she just dropped off the surface of the earth.

She asked the goons if they killed her the other day but they informed her that she was saved by unknown men and sent to the hospital and from the hospital she fled, they didn't get anything after that because she never went back to her apartment.

End of investigation.

She had stopped her father from informing her grandmother because that would mean investigating and involving the police and then she would be questioned about what she and Heather were doing at her apartment with thugs the week she went missing and it would cause another scandal.

A news that may cause all the nonsense they had fed and built for the public to collapse, so it is better for things to stay the way it was and beside this is similar to wiping away her existence.

Sapphire ran away from home, end of discussion, there is nothing more and nothing less.
