Chapter 47: Neither Friends Nor Foe

Sapphire greeted everyone as soon as she entered the room and quickly walked to her seat. She sat in front of the system and started cleaning it. She had the weird lady role to maintain.

If she is weird no one would think of not saying some things in front of her because they would think that she didn't know what she was doing.

Who else in this company needs more information than her, acting weird was her best bet, if you are a gossiper, just like she once was, you get information too but not all and if you are too serious, you bet none.

'Sapphire, do you know that our team once proposed an idea the last time and we failed," Candy said and Sapphire stared at her with wide eyes.

'Really??" She asked in an overly exaggerated manner and Katie scowled at her for yelling, she muttered sorry.

'Yah, it was an epic fall, we used to be the best," Craig said and Sapphire covered her mouth dramatically.

'We are not going to fail now because if you fall," she stopped staring at all of them and they stared back at her in expectation, they would like to see her say something sensible for once. 'It is because we stumbled." She added, her words wiped the looks away from their faces.

'You are an idiot," Katie groaned and Sapphire grinned at her, as if it was the best compliment she had ever heard.

Katie saw from the corner of her eyes that the most quiet and handsome had entered and adjusted her clothes, Sapphire twisted her mouth in a pout, how important was the man to Katie?

She is impressed by almost no one but she is trying to make herself noticeable to him.

Sapphire stared at the man trying to know what kind of person he is. He hadn't said a single word to her since she arrived and people rarely called him, so she didn't know his name.

'Hi," Kati greeted and the guy only nodded.

'Stop trying so hard to get his attention, he doesn't like you," Craig said, and Katie gave him the middle finger.

Sapphire stood up and started walking out but stopped at the door and looked at her team mates.

'I have to use the restroom," she said and without waiting for their reply, she got out of the room.

'Why ask for our opinion if she wasn't going to use it anyways?" Candy asked and both Craig and Katie shrugged.

Sapphire walked into the room where the paper records are kept and scrunched up her nose in disgust. She really hates it when papers are disorganized, it irks her the wrong way and the papers here are everything except organized.

‘forget about me ruining the place, them not organizing their paperwork is already a destruction tool,' she thought.

She dropped the box she was holding loudly on one of the tables that was in the room and someone appeared in front of her screaming loudly and she also screamed.

She paused for a moment and look at the person, she was so surprised when she saw that it was Mira who was there. It turned out that she was squatting behind the table and looking for something.

She was probably the one who turned the room upside down and it seemed like she hadn't found what she was looking for.

'Hi," Sapphire greeted, she had been waiting for the opportunity to meet her ‘coincidentally', in a way that Mira would never suspect that she had ulterior motives and life presented it at her feet gracefully.

Mira didn't reply, she only stared at her blankly and a streak of resentment in her gaze, well, she hoped that this one doesn't hate her too.

Mira turned and squatted down, with the intention of continuing what she was doing. Sapphire walked round the table to stand in front of her and even though there wasn't much space, she managed to squeeze herself in.

'Hello," she greeted again but the woman didn't acknowledge her. 'Hi," she tried and when she got no response, she continued to greet her, saying every form of greetings there were.

'What?" Mira asked slamming the file in her hand on the ground, it seems to Sapphire that she already crushed her patience nerve.

'I was saying hi to you and you were ignoring me,"

'Must I greet you, don't even know you," she replied, blowing her face and causing her brown hair to move from its spot.

'We would know each other one day, we are colleagues,"

Mira raised her head and stared at Sapphire with her onyx eyes, she cleaned the perspiration off her upper lips.

'I don't want to know you, now stay away from me," she told her, bitterly and Sapphire stared at her in surprise, what the….

The door opened and a woman who had short black hair and dressed like she was ready to hit the club anytime appeared.

'You are needed at the supervisor's office, Mira, he is here. You would have to tell him wherever the hell you dropped the file, I don't know why you touched it in the first place, you are the junior, the last one in our group," she said and went away slamming the door behind her.

Sapphire scrunched her brows in thought, the senior woman or whatever definitely knew about what was going on, she had a smirk on her lips throughout the entire time she spoke to Mira and she had an evil smile when she walked away.

'Get out of my way," Mira said and walked away, hitting her shoulder on Sapphire's.

Sapphire smirked in contentment, she had the perfect way to approach Mira and make her tell her what went down three years ago, but for now, she would allow her to be chewed by the supervisor and everyone on her team.

Sapphire stared down at the lobby, she played with the can of juice in her hands, she crossed her hand over the other as she stared at Oliver, who had his hand deep in his pocket and Venita, whose heel kept making sound when it came into contact with the carpet tile, entered the building.

They looked so compatible, friends that think alike, it is little wonder that they are friends with each other, they were both smiling, maintaining their reputation of being nice ass people.

The employees around the place kept smiling and waving at the model, greeting the man they saw as their investor with deep respect in her eyes and the look in Oliver's eyes would make them think that he respected them too.

‘Hypocritical!'

She went away from the office in order to not get in contact with either Oliver or Venita, it would be outrageous if the weird woman and the group suddenly knew the model and the top investor.

They would grow more wary of her if both people were at odds with her, no one would want to jeopardize their future, and Sapphire would rather keep her anonymous self.

She raised her drink to her lips and took a sip, someone took the space beside her but she didn't bother to look at them.

'Some rich people are the worst of all, aren't they?" Someone said beside her and she finally glanced at the person.

The woman is obviously rich, the dressing, gait and way of speaking said it all, why on earth is she insulting her kind – well their kind.

'Aren't you one of them too?" Sapphire asked, the lady smiled at her before turning to stare ahead.

'Well it is nice to meet you here, I must say that your reasons for coming are quite interesting," she said raising her hand for a handshake and Sapphire stared at the woman in surprise.

This woman obviously knows a lot about her, she wouldn't play dumb with her.

'Sapphire Aldine," she said and shook hands with her.

'Tina Steve," She replied with a smile.
