On cue, one of the officers went to remove the face mask from Arielle's head, as well as the face mask. All of them stared at her intently but Felix looked like his life depended on it, perhaps, he was finding it hard that for the past three months, he had been sucking up to the daughter of his late brother, who happened to be his number one enemy.
The woman shook her head as soon as the face mask was removed from her face.
'Aish! You should have at least been gentle, do you want to ruin my hair, I just went to the salon to do it." The woman said without voice alteration and Luci furrowed her brows in confusion when the voice didn't even sound like Arielle's, not in the least.
The officers moved away and both Luci and the detective couldn't help the surprised scoff.
'What the hell?" The detective said, staring at the woman who was definitely not Arielle. One of her lackeys? Maybe, but definitely not Arielle Conrad. One thing about this woman is that she is on the police's list of wanted people.
'What nonsense are you yapping? Why the fuck would you compare me to that good for nothing member of the Conrad family? All she knows how to do is have fun and laugh at serious situations," The woman said and Felix scoffed, he turned to glare at Luci.
'You are the boss?" Felix asked the woman beside him while still staring at Luci.
'Obviously not. My boss is a very capable person. She goes by the name Startling Lightening, she won't be here to oversee this stupid childish nonsense by herself. I would have been even more offended had it been that it was the boss you are comparing Arielle to."
'What Startling lightening, is she a weather reporter? How on earth could someone take that animated name?" Felix said and the woman rolled her eyes at him.
'Don't insult my boss, jackass."
'I would give it to Arielle this time, she was good at executing the plan, but I am not dumb either. I kind of figured out her plan because it had so many loopholes. Take them officers."
'If the real boss is not here, does that mean that she told me to come here only to find an imitator, a fake to meet with me." Felix said as the officers started cuffing him and the woman beside him.
'You just realized that now? I must say that you are a snail when it comes to thinking."
'Both of you come to the station with me. You are under arrest for the burglary, kidnap and attempted murder, you have the right to contact your lawyer and keep quiet till we arrive at our destination. Frankly, I would love it if you do just that."
'I feel like I didn't achieve anything today," Luci said with a groan. 'Sapphire would be mad at me for a long time this time." She continued and reached into her hair to remove the small recorder, she threw it at the detective and he caught it effectively. 'That is the evidence that Felix really did kill his brother, Marcel Conrad."
Felix exhaled in annoyance and glared at all of them, he looked like he would break down into a murder spree any moment from then.
They heard footsteps and another set of police officers entered the building with guns in their hands.
'Freeze!" The man who seemed to be their detective said but paused when he saw the female detective.
'Ma'am!" He said, bowing in respect and the detective nodded.
'What are you doing here?" She asked instead.
'We got a tip off about Mr. Felix's illegal funds as well as the evidence that shows clearly what he was up to with his paper company." He replied and Felix tried to jerk his hand off from the officer leading to the car.
'What nonsense is that?"
'We have hard evidence, you are definitely not going scot free now like all the previous time I have tried to indict you."
'Who was the tip from?"
'We don't know the person but written on the envelope in big cursive letters is Startling Lightning." He informed her and Luci started cackling like a witch.
'Seems like your dear niece set you up with all of this. She didn't want to help you with kidnapping Sapphire, she just wanted to send you to jail like you did to her father," Luci said with a giggle.
'Damn, the evil members of the Conrad family are really tenacious, there is Melissa, Marylynne, you, Mr. Felix and Arielle, who is the most tenacious of you all." The detective said and turned to her subordinate, the male detective stood at attention.
'Take this man away, deal with him first. I have to blow away this Startling Lightening before she comes to startle us again." The detective said.
'I feel truly sorry for you Felix. Who knows what waits for you behind the bars, that place is the least safe place for you." Luci said and Felix cursed at her as he was forced inside the van and forced away by the officers.
'Thanks for cooperating, Detective Ria," Luci said, turning to shake the woman.
'We managed to remove one of our major headaches. I would try to track down Arielle, I believe the surest way to her are her right-hands."
'Heather and Jessica."
'Yes. I would also help as much as I can."
'Should I drop you off??" she asked and Luci shook her head.
'Zayn should be here soon to get me away from here, he has been keeping track of everything since the women came inside the apartment, and he should be here soon." Luci said and heard the sound of the engine rumbling in the distance.
'He is here now." She said and the detective turned to look at the car.
'Alright, I will go now." She said and walked out of the place.
Zayn packed the car in front of her and wind down the glass, he poked his head out of the window.
'Did it hurt?" He asked, he gestured to her cheek that was red.
'Yep, it did a bit but I would live," she replied and her phone rang, she checked it and saw that it was Sapphire. 'News sure travels fast around here. She would bite my head off. 'Let's head home. You should face the music as soon as possible."

'Now that Felix is out of the way. What is your next line of action?" Heather asked and Arielle sipped the beer in her glass leisurely. She dropped the class on the marble table and cocked her head to the side.
'I am not sure. What should I do?"
'We have to take immediate action if you want everything to go on your way. Sapphire is the last biggest threat in the family, her mother, her father and Max should be easy to control, Brielle would flee the country at the first opportunity she gets if things tips sideways.
'Would Alexander and his family keep still if something terrible happened to Sapphire, they would kill you if you do as much as touch a strand of her hair. It is an absolutely different story if you still remain hidden, now that you are out in the open, you are not as invincible as you think." Jessica said in exasperation. She had gotten tired of Arielle's reckless ways, she didn't want to remain in their godforsaken gang anymore but Arielle is threatening her with Amy and not in this life would she let anything bad happen to her daughter.
'You seriously think that I have no plans for that? This is what I would do. While I am near the ending of my beautiful opera, before I kill off Sapphire, I would buy as much share as possible and would be the sole shareholder, then after everything is done, I would drop off the surface of the earth and do a surgery, change everything about me and enjoy my life at a beach in a very cool country, you can come with me. I would fund for you guys." She said and Heather nodded while Jessica still remained dubious. That plan won't work, Alexander won't just cease his search just because she dropped from the surface of the earth, and she had to keep her kid safe.
'I have to go see Amy, it is past her bedtime and I have to make sure the babysitters are doing their job properly." Jessica told them and Arielle nodded.
'You can't really trust anyone, can you? Alright. I will see you guys tomorrow night, I have some important business to get to, it won't require your assistance so you can see it as a day off." Arielle informed her and she nodded before she walked out of the room.
She was in the hallway when she remembered that she forgot to tell Arielle about the deal that just fell through with one of their partners. She opened the door quietly and was about to advance forward but stopped when she heard her name.
'Jessica is really stupid, isn't she? Did she believe that cock and bull story that I just told her?" Arielle said in disbelief.
'Tell me for real now, Arielle, what are you up to?" Heather asked.
'Alexander won't stop searching once I kill off his wife so I would have Jessica die in my place. A little bit of magic, some face mask that makes her look exactly like me and she would meet Alexander when the time comes and die in my place. That is a foolproof plan."
'Would Jessica agree to do that?" Heather asked in worry.
'She has no choice if I have her with me."
'By her . . . You mean?"
'Yes, Amy is her Achilles' heel, I have to threaten her with that. Of course, you would brainwash her too into agreeing even though she would have no choice, I would make sure of that. Don't worry Heather, I would reward you handsomely. We can start the negotiation from ten billion dollars, you can raise the stake if you are not satisfied."
'Alright, I would be waiting for your orders." Heather replied and Jessica wanted to march up to them and mash their faces up but she had to go about it in a good way.
She retreated into the shadow and out of the door.
