'What….what is that?" Sapphire asked Maxwell and the guy sighed.
'What the hell are they talking about? I didn't do anything, I haven't been to a club in three years, talk less of working there as a stripper,"
'I really believe you. Believe me when I say I don't agree with them, I know you are not the one but there are videos and pictures of you that prove it right and it is really you, Sapphire. Anyone could see that," Maxwell said and pressed his phone for a while before dropping it in front of her.
'This is going to hurt you but you have to see this," Maxwell added and after the ad that was displaying on the phone was over, a news anchor popped up on the screen.
'Sapphire Eva Conrad is the first daughter of the Conrad family, a family that has been wealthy for ages, she is engaged to Mr Oliver Gray but recently it has been discovered that she is the worst of all species. Even though she is engaged to Mr. Gray, the nation's perfect gentleman, she still cheated on him," she said and Sapphire remembered that she was crowded by the reporters because of this.
'This is the picture caught on a camera, it is Sapphire and the man he is cheating on Mr. Gray with." The new anchor continued and a picture showed on the screen.
Sapphire paused the video and zoomed in on the picture. She couldn't understand why the man who helped her when she fled from Oliver's apartment and took her to the hospital was in the picture.
It was probably caught when she almost fell because of fatigue and he held her close to himself, her face was barely visible but their close proximity may be considered as intimacy.
'This man is just someone who helped me, he brought me to the hospital the other day, he was the one that told the doctor to call you!" Sapphire said in exasperation and resumed the video.
'Of course, we have not only the pictures to prove it but also an interview with the man," The woman said and Sapphire's eyes widened when she saw the man sitting with a reporter at what seemed like a café.
'Yes, we have been in an affair for six months now, I didn't know that she was engaged to Mr Oliver, I just dated the woman I liked, I never expected her to use me as a cheat tool," he said pathetically and Sapphire shook her head, droplets of tears falling from her eyes, it stained the screen of the phone.
'I don't even know his name, I didn't ask for his help the other day. He did all that all by himself, what is he doing, why is he lying?" She asked hysterically.
'I am a victim here too and I want people to understand that, I am not a social media person and how am I supposed to know that she is really Sapphire Conrad when she behave so simply around me, she—" He said and his words hanged in his throat, anyone staring at this man would pity him, Sapphire thinks that he deserves an oscar.
'As you have heard, Mr. Norman said that he did know anything about this, she also worked at a club as a stripper but the manager confirmed that she doesn't collect her wages, she says that she does it for fun," the anchor continued.
The screen moved and it showed a woman Sapphire had never seen in the entirety of her life. She talked about how surprised she was when she discovered that Sapphire's family was really wealthy as it was, she suspected that they are rich but not on that extremely rich level of rich.
Another lady was interviewed and she introduced herself as sapphire's best friend at the club, she also talked against her.
In short, they put her out as a rich heiress who lived a double life. A short video was added to the picture and it was of Sapphire dancing around the pole, pictures of her posing for the camera and she didn't remember any of it, why would she when she never did it?
'I am shocked about this, I have never seen Sapphire do any of the things listed here, I am still finding it difficult to believe this. She didn't live a parallel life. I am waiting for her to come back and say all this is wrong, that all of it is an elaborate lie," Heather said and Sapphire shook her head. What on earth is going on?
Why are they treating this rumor like a truth? This is not true, this is not world news, the channel even has to do with gossip for goodness sake.
'We have been trying to reach Ms. Sapphire but she is not available, the family don't know where she is."
'I am at a frickin 'hospital, didn't you tell them that I am here?" Sapphire asked Maxwell.
'I did, they know which hospital you are at, they even sent me to come back home with you as soon as possible, the doctor said that you can be discharged soon, so maybe we would go home,"
'Then what the hell is this reporter saying, they didn't say this, did they?" Sapphire asked in denial, she didn't want to admit that her family would cross her so quickly.
'It is true, they really said that and you just saw the interview, I don't know what they plan to do to you but it is not good, Sapphire it is not good,"
The ward opened and both Sapphire and Maxwell raised her head, expecting to see the doctor or one of her family members but was surprised when she saw strangers.
'Hello," they greeted and they both nodded. 'Ms. Sapphire Conrad?" One of the men asked and Sapphire nodded.
'That's me," Sapphire said.
'You are under arrest for misuse of illegal drugs," he said and her eyes widened.
