Sapphire woke up and looked around and saw that she was in their bedroom, hers and Alexander's room.

She moved her hand to her forehead and noticed that it was cold, she must have had a fever.

The door opened and Alexander entered, he was holding a plate of fruit, he smiled when he saw that she was awake. He dropped the tray on the table where there was already food and sat on the bed.

'How are you feeling?" He asked and she nodded but he moved closer to her and touched her forehead with the back of her hand before nodding in satisfaction.

'You don't trust me?" Sapphire asked and Alexander shook his head with a smirk. 'Why?" She asked with a smirk of her own.

'You didn't use your words," he stated simply and she scoffed.

'That means I should not trust your answer too because you didn't use your words," she stated and he nodded in agreement.

'No, don't trust it," he replied and Sapphire chuckled.

'Idiot," she said and he nodded before moving to the table.

'Food or fruits?" He asked and she pointed to food.

'I am famished," she replied and he carried the tray from the table and dropped it on the bed. He carried her legs and sat on the spot before putting her legs back on his thighs, he was closer to her that way.

'What are you doing?" She tried to raise her leg but he held it down and placed the food on it.

'Serving you breakfast in bed like a devoted husband should," he said and she scoffed.

'You have served breakfast, why are you holding a spoon?"

'To feed you, you sprain both of your hands yesterday," he replied and she raised a brow before raising her hand to prove that they were working just fine. 'It is just an excuse to feed you," he finally added and raised the spoon, she stared at him and he nodded to the food, so she gave up and took a bite.

'Who is a good girl?" He asked and she glared at him hard, he raised his hand to the back of his head in surrender but the mocking smile on his lips told her that he was enjoying teasing her.

'That's so uncomfortable and absurd," she groused but she knew that she was enjoying it too.

'Okay, I will stop." He replied.

'Don't you have to go to work?"

'No, I am the CEO, I come and leave whenever I want, I have done this thousands of times so it is cool," he said and she raised a brow.

Just at that moment his phone rang and it was closer to Sapphire, she took it and pointed it to him but he shook his head.

'Pick it up or leave it, the choice is up to you," he said nonchalantly and she stared at him in surprise.

Oliver would never let her pick up his call even when he knows who is calling and knows that she knows who called but here Alexander is telling her to do it without even checking it. The phone stopped ringing and she dropped it but Alexander didn't even spare a glance.

'What if it was your grandfather? Isn't he important to you," she asked but he only took a handkerchief to wipe her lips, all his attention on her.

'He is the most important person to me," he said and dropped the handkerchief. 'after you. You and the kids are the most important people in my life," he said seriously and a light blush stained her cheeks.

'What about Alicia and Alyssa?"

'They are important to me but they would find the person who they top their priority list, but for you my sweet," he said, moved closer to her and tucked her hair behind her ears. 'You and your kids have found yours because you top my list." He finished with a small smile and her cheeks darkened.

'Stop saying cheesy things, did you eat a lot of cheese?"

'I only speak the truth, it is not my fault that you didn't believe," he said and raised the spoon, she opened her mouth and took a few more bites

'Where are the kids?"

'You mean ‘our kids'? They gave me full rights over them when they announced me as dad at the party yesterday," he said and she rolled her eyes at him but didn't argue with him which made his smile wider.

'I asked you a question,"

'They are downstairs, they came up a while ago but you were sleeping. I told them not to wake you up because you are carrying our baby," he said with a smile and she also let out a small smile before hiding it.

The mere thought that Alexander would accept her child if she ever got pregnant for him brought her great happiness, she only felt sad mildly because she won't ever be able to give him a child.

She stopped and shook her head, what was she thinking? What child with him?

'And they believed you?"

'No, they told me that they hope I choke on my lies," he said with a small pout and Sapphire laughed.

The phone rang again and he didn't turn to it this time too, she picked the phone and answered the call.

'Hi Mr. Alexander," the person said from the other side and she removed the phone to look at the name.

'Hello Nate," Sapphire said and Alexander raised his head, his eyes widened when he heard Marcus name.

'Oh. Hi Mrs. Aldine. I am calling Mr. Aldine asked about his health, it must be because he is sick that he didn't come to work because he had never missed a day of work in the last few years. He is always here to handle and take care of things," Nate said and Alexander groaned.

'Okay, I will leave your message to the sick man, he is very sick that untrue things flow out of his mouth."

'Bye Mrs. Aldine," Nate said.

'Bye Nate," she said and with that hang up.

'Damn you Marcus!" Alexander cursed and Sapphire raised her brows at him.

'You have missed days at work many times, my ass. You didn't come a day and they called because you being sick is the only reason why you would be home because apparently, nobody can handle the company in your place,"

'Well…." He trailed off.

'And now, you are absent. Guess whose company is going under," she teased.

'Oliver's" he answered seriously and Sapphire paused to stare at him.
