He didn't even believe that he saw her, he thought Seb was just joking around and he wished that he had believed him, maybe then he would have been ready to face her in person.
She looked nothing like that broken girl who had too many tears stuck in her throat to talk. Gone are the waters that fell from her eyes anytime someone asked her what happened.
The shaking knees were gone and her hair which used to look haggard was packed and a part was used to cover her eyes. Her once dry lips were painted blood red and looked like they were ready to kiss the next available person.
"How have you been?" He asked after the chatty Head manager left and Sapphire shrugged.
How hard Oliver found it to believe that Sapphire could treat him nonchalantly. He used to be her world and they both knew it, she sought his attention every fucking time.
"You have changed,"
"It's not like I am supposed to kiss you on the lips as soon as I saw you," she rolled her eyes and she searched for Heather in the crowd, surely she wouldn't leave her fiance with her. She was not surprised that Oliver thought that he still had power over her, he was so remorseless, and to think that she was debating on leaving him and his stupid fiance alone or paying them back in their own coin.
"Or did you expect hugs and kisses on cheeks like good old friends?" She sassed as she sipped the drink, for some reason it is beginning to lose its beautiful taste - shame.
"I believe we were more than old friends," Oliver said brushing off the imaginary dirt on his Brioni Tuxedo and Sapphire rolled her eyes.
"Of course, we are new lovers," she replied sarcastically.
'You are treating me like air, are you sure that you want to do that? I am very sure that your family doesn't support you. You would need someone like me in order to stand up to them,"
'You are having a taste of your own medicine, is it bitter? And why on earth would I need you, you are nothing, compared to what I have now." Sapphire said, turning to stare at him.
When they used to date, Oliver often treat her like she is the least important thing in his life, he would ignore her for a week both at home and at the office, then when they get to a party he would beg her not to be angry and like the idiot she was, she always forgave him.
Then they get back home, after one or two days, he would go back to ignoring her, dating Oliver was toxic but she loved him.
Her life with him was a nightmare but it was the only dream she had.

Heather stared at them standing together in that situation and felt like her feet were glued to the ground.
The bright light shone even brighter and she could hear bits of conversation that the people around her were having but she couldn't help that her attention was zeroed on Sapphire who was standing with Oliver.
She worked so hard to prevent them from seeing each other, she made sure Oliver didn't go to the Conrad mansion only to have him meet her here.
She wondered if it would have been better to let the chatty Aunt Brielle yap about it to Oliver than have them meet like this.
She looked around the party, maybe they would still end up meeting here because almost all the kids in the Conrad kids were present here, Melissa, Arielle, that model Venita, and almost all of them _ even Ruby was here for god's sake!
And it had been four or was it five years that he attended any party of some sort.
It was like they were back to the beginning, she would be standing afar like this, staring at Oliver get that look and eleven out of ten times he does, he is begging Sapphire for some sort of forgiveness.
She would just stand and stare, wishing Oliver was with her because she was just a secretary that Oliver knew through Sapphire.
A Secretary, that thought brought her back to reality and she willed her legs to move. She is now the Fiance, no longer the Secretary.
Those were her thoughts as she went to her man, if anyone was to look at them from afar it would be that bitch.
And she had to wipe that look from his face, Oliver didn't offend her so there is no need to ask for forgiveness.
She got to them and interlocked her arms with Oliver's and stared at Sapphire.
"If it isn't Sapphy baby," she taunted.
Sapphire only glanced at her briefly and stared at the crowd like they - she and Oliver - weren't worth her attention.
And she didn't like the haughty expression draped over her face one bit!
Heather hates the fact that Oliver had been standing in front of Sapphire all this while. Up this close, you have the opportunity to see the exposed parts of her cleavages, how full it was.
Heather used to pride herself with her body figure when they used to work together, she often saw Sapphire hitting Oliver at the back of his head for staring at Heather's body too much.
She still prides herself with her body but she is not so sure at this moment because Sapphire look like a seducer, her hips and thighs which was exposed through the slit in her dress and it looked sinful and for whatever awful reason, she kept pursing her pouty blood red lips.
It's like they were back to the beginning, just this time she wasn't sure who was the secretary even though she is now The fiance and what is worse the obvious attraction Oliver felt for his ex or the fact that it's crystal clear that Sapphire doesn't want Oliver _ she couldn't just decide!
