Even though she was not on good terms with Audrey she didn't expect any less from her, she likes to think that she is elegant and seeing as she and Melissa were together the last time they were at the Aldine mansion, she may go ahead and invite the bitch.
She looked over at Sapphire and chuckled, the Gray really did a number on her. It must have been a while since she had been to a gala, she looked so amazed.
The whole place screamed elegant, if Sapphire thought that the party that the Conrad hosted was luxurious, this is on another whole level, it is nothing short of magical.
It looked like a combination of historical and modern party and that added to its charm.
It was a dark starless night but the golden lights that littered the whole place looked like they were suspended in space or rather standing over the space because they were on the balcony.
"Are you ready to get dressed?" Alicia called from inside, breaking Sapphire out of her thoughts and they both nodded.
"Honestly, I don't know the reason why Alyssa refused to let us get dressed before coming here," Sapphire grumbled. She had been complaining ever since Alyssa refused and was able to convince her to get in the car not dressed up.
"We are getting dressed now aren't we?" Alyssa said as she turned to leave the balcony.
"The guest will start pouring in very soon and as the host I must be ready, so let's go"
"And why on earth did you decide to have the party now, at night!" Sapphire said and Alyssa rolled her eyes.
"Now, you are starting to sound so much like Alicia and I don't think that I can take it," she entered the room where their closet was and where she had arranged the clothes to arrive.
She stared at the clothes for a while before turning to Alicia.
"I take it that the kids are dressed," she said.
"Yeah, they are with grandpa. They refused to leave him alone and the old man seemed to enjoy the attention a lot." Alicia replied and Sapphire smiled.
She's glad that the man loves her children, she already guessed that much from their last talk but she wasn't sure if he knew that she had kids she still doesn't know.
"This dress is for you," Alyssa said and she stared at the dress that was still hanging. It was long and gorgeous!
She tried to remember the last time she dressed in these clothes.
Exotic and screams her feminism, it would definitely hug her curves and the opening at the top will make her cleavages visible and full, it had pearls sprinkled all over it and she would capture a lot of unwanted attention.
"Are you sure I should wear this?" Sapphire said, staring at the cloth with doubtful eyes.
"Alexander made sure it was tailored to your size, so it would definitely be your size and if it is not, he said I should have it sent back," Alyssa said and she had another reason to be surprised.
She didn't think that he would care about something like that but he had it tailored for her.
The pearls and the material the dress was made of is definitely expensive.
That man definitely cares more than he lets out.
"And besides, he had some others packed up in case of emergency, he would probably not come this year too,"
"Others..." Sapphire muttered as Alicia helped Alyssa who kept chattering get dressed.
"Oh, you have got dressed, now sit on this chair and let Alyssa do a makeover on that face of yours," Alicia said and Sapphire kept shaking her head.
"No, definitely not, I am not doing anything on my face," she said, pursing her pink lips and furrowing her brows, she should definitely be able to take on Alyssa.
Her own idea is that she should get back at them while looking as plain as possible, she wants them to underestimate her, they shouldn't think she wanted to do anything.
It is times like this that she is thankful that Luci and Claire are not here.
"Not in front of those trust fund kids, you are definitely not going there like that. I won't allow that!" Alyssa said, gritting her teeth in determination.

The door opened after Alexander gave the person on the other side the permission to enter.
Marcus entered with a file in his hand. He put it on the table beside his laptop and stood in front of him.
"Report," Alexander told the guy as he continued what he was doing on the laptop and the man cleared his throat.
"The last trace was found in France," Marcus said and Alexander's hand paused on the keys. He raised his head and stared into his P.A's eyes.
"France?"
"Yes, it was recently discovered that they were taken to France shortly after being dropped off at Los Angeles. That's where the trail ended for now, Sanchez is still looking into it,"
Alexander fisted his hand over the table and gritted his jaw in frustration.
"Damn Shelia, gods if she wasn't dead already I would have shot her dead by now!" He said and rubbed his face with his hand. He ran it over his hair before he rested his head on the chair and looked at the city of New York visible through the glass. He wondered if they may be in New York as they speak.
"Tell Sanchez to continue looking into it," he groused and Marcus nodded.
"Ok sir. Your schedule is clear for the rest of the evening ." He said and Alexander stared at him in askance.
"The whole high society is at the Aldine Mansion for the gala. They always are," Marcus joked.
"The Grays are invited?"
"Mr. Oliver Gray would be there with his fiancee Heather Smith, as well as his buddies and most of the Conrad kids would be there," he listed. " Ms. Alyssa refused to invite the older generation."
Alexander pressed some keys on his keyboard and stood up, he removed his suit from where he hung it and walked to the door, the Assistant quickly followed him as they walked out of his office, the secretary greeted him and he only nodded.
"You take the rest of the day off," he told Marcus as they stopped in front of the elevator, Marcus pressed the button.
"If I may ask, where are you going in such a hurry?"
The elevator opened and they entered.
"Some rotten apples have been mixed with the good ones and I have to sort it out," he replied adjusting his cuff and Marcus nodded in understanding even though he didn't know what the man was talking about
"Is the appointment with that designer still intact?"
"Yes, he said you could come over anytime."
The elevator opened and they entered his personal parking space. They both walked to the car.
"You should look into Gray and find out what he is up to lately," he said and Marcus nodded.
"Ok sir. Bye sir."
"See you, Nate," He entered the car and drove off.
"It is Marcus, not Nate!" He grumbled but he wouldn't hear him anyways because he was speeding off like a man who was just called that his wife is at the hospital.
'What is wrong with him?"
