"What's happening tonight again?" Brady asks me as we walk home, well technically I'm walking Brady's skating next to me
"I heard from Gemma that everyone's going to Finnegan's tonight to hang out!" "So?"
"Soooo I told her we'd stop by for a bit" I smile showing teeth so he'll agree "No Jo! Hell no! I'm not doing that!"
Taking his arm I beg "please! Just for like 10 minutes so we can say we were there!" And pull him off
his skateboard
"Don't look at me with that face that makes me do whatever you say!" He pulls his arm away and picks up his board
We continue to walk "if you say yes I swear I'll never ask for anything ever again" "Until the next thing comes along?"
"I mean obviously"
"Jo I don't want to spend my Friday night with people we go to school with. Why can't we head back to my house order some pizza, and call Mick and have a great night by ourselves?"
"I'm not spending my Friday night eating pizza and smoking weed with you Brady!" That comes out of my mouth louder than it should have
"Would you like a bullhorn for that giant mouth?"
As we're walking a familiar car in full speed pulls up next to us knocking Brady and I back a little but we don't fall, the passenger window rolls down revealing Greg Mercy "well if it isn't Brady and Jojo, you guys get gayer every time I see you"
Greg Mercy is literally the last thing we need right now "literally the best part of my day, when Greg Mercy walks up to little ol us and says well if it isn't Brady and Jojo, followed by something incredibly insulting. Just for the fun of it though how about you just skip the well if it
isn't part and just jump right to the insults next time" "That works with me" I add on
"Oh good we're on the same page!" Brady and I smile to each other then turn back to Greg "Freaks!"
"Oh hey Calliope" Brady bends down to eye level with Greg's girlfriend Calliope who's driving the car
"you know I've always wanted to express my deep appreciation for what you two got going on here, she drives you places and you let her" standing back up looking at me
Brady asks "Jojo why don't you drive me places?" "That's easy, I'm not your girlfriend"
"Oh yes! Common mistake"
"You weird losers belong together"
"Greg Mercy thank you for the advice we will happily act on it" "Drive away babe they're getting weirder"
They pull away and we wave "let's do this again!" Brady yells as the car disappears. "I love messing
with them" we laugh and continue to walk
"It's so much fun!"
Putting his board back down he gets on it and start to skate again "about tonight..." he says getting my attention "maybe we can stop by"
"Really?!" I get excited
"For a little bit! We leave as soon as I say!"
"Okay yes that's fair" the corners of my mouth grow uncontrollably into a giant grin "you're gonna love it I know it!"
"You don't know anything" he speeds up skating away as the street divides and we go our separate ways "I'll be over in a few!" He yells as
he zooms down the opposite street
"Okay!" I yell back and continue home. "Can I borrow the car?" I walk into my house asking my mom as I drop my bag
"Oh hey mom, hey honey how was school? It was good Brady and I did something really stupid that we thought was funny to make other people laugh" she narrates getting up from where she was sitting and walking pass me to the kitchen
Rolling my eyes "hey mom school was great, Brady and I did something funny, everyone laughed.
Can I borrow the car?" I follow her to the kitchen "Of course child that I love"
"No that would be Natalie"
"Hey" she appears out of nowhere walking into the kitchen after I say her name
"Oh look it's Natalie! Back from college, how's college life girl that stops by every three hours?" "Oh look it's Jordan! Back from making out with his husband Brady? How's high school boy who
never admits anything!" She retorts as she opens the fridge and grabs a drink "Natalie leave your brother alone! Don't say things like that to him!"
"He's fine mom! He can take it, and let's not act like we don't know he makes out with Brady" "Natalie!" She barks at her "cut that out"
"Whatever" she was away leaving us in the kitchen.
"I love when she comes over" I smile looking at my mother
"You two drive me crazy. Now what do you need the car for?"
"Well Brady and I are going to Finnegan's tonight to hang out with some people from school" "Brady agreed to go somewhere that's not a skate park?"
"He was in a good mood" I reply remembering Greg Mercy "anyways he'll be over soon and I should
go get ready" I go to my room.
Turning on loud music to drown out the sound of Natalie my very annoying sister, I undress for a quick shower.
