"Let's go we're going to be late!" Andy rushes in our bedroom holding Sammy "we have to leave now we have a two hour drive Paul!" He barks at me as his little body charges for me while he holds our 2 year old son
"I'm sorry the button on the last jacket popped off!" I argue. Putting Sam down Andy starts to laugh "stop laughing! What's so funny?"
"Getting a little hefty are we?" He taps my stomach then walks away.
"Excuse me!" I follow behind him walking around Sammy who's just standing there watching us "I am not hefty stop laughing"
"I'm sorry honey you're right" he stops walking and turns to me, kissing me "you look amazing" "I know" I grins and pull away
"Now go grab everything and our child we're getting in the car right now!" He barks and I rush away.
Walking back in the room Sammy turns to me and I smile at him "your daddy's scary" I make a funny face and he laughs. Grabbing everything I need I look down at Sammy "got everything you need?"
He looks around "lets go daddy's waiting" he walks away and I follow behind him.
My husband Andy and I are going to our oldest friends wedding today. Today's going to be hard on Andy because the people we're going to see at the wedding weren't exactly his biggest fans.
"We're ready" Sammy and I walk to the living room as Andy frantically shove things in Sammy's diaper bag. "We're going for a few hours Andy not months"
"You say that now but that little monster's gonna blow something wicked, then we'll see who's laughing"
Sammy looks up at me and I shake my head at him "he doesn't mean it" I whisper loud enough for them both to hear.
"You said you were ready?" Andy finishes packing the bag. "Yes I am"
"Watch? Wallet? Phone?" He reads me like an open book.
Glancing at both wrists and tapping all my pockets "what would I do without you?" I smile rushing away
"I don't know probably die!"
"Are you nervous?" Andy taps his leg as I drive
"Does Sammy look hungry to you? I feel like he's hungry" he's so nervous. "Sammy's fine babe stop worrying"
"Why aren't you worried?! We haven't seen Jenna and Phil in years, and now they're getting married? Remember how much they fought?
No one believed they'd last this long"
"No one believed that about us either, but look at us" "Yeah but we were never as bad as they are- were"
"Let's just get there see our old friends and be happy for them, we're gonna have fun, right?" "Right!"

After a long two hour drive Andy and I park the car at the Jenna and Phil's giant house and carry Sammy in "ANDYYYY!" We hear a familiar voice scream his name as we walk in.
We see our old friend Liza running towards us with her arms open "Liza oh my god!" Andy runs to her and they hug each other
"How long has it been?!" They continue to hug squeezing tight "Too long"
"Paul look at you!" She comes and hugs me "still so handsome! And this must be Sammy! What a
cutie" she rubs his cheek "everyone loves the Facebook pictures you guys post of him!"
"Thank you. How's it going so far? Where's the bride?"
"Come on I'll take you to her!" She grabs Andy's hand "she looks so stunning" She pulls him away "I'll be right back" he says back to me as he's being dragged.
"Guess it's just us now" I say to Sammy as I hold him. Walking around I look for the table with our
names on it "here we are" I find our name tags "look at how fancy this stuff looks Sammy, maybe we shouldn't touch it yet" I take a name tag from him that he already pulled off the table.
Sitting with Sam on my lap I wait for Andy to come back "Paul? Paul Renwick?"
I turn around to see my old high school girlfriend standing behind me "Lauren Mitt!" I stand up sitting Sam down "I can't believe you're here!" We hug "this is insane!"
"I know right! Jenna didn't tell me you were coming!" We let go "look at you oh my god!" She grabs my face "last time I heard about you was from I think Jenna who told me you were getting married but that was like years ago"
"Yeah I did to Andy, remember Andy?"
"Andy... Pax?!" Her jaw drops "holy shit you married flaming Andy!?" She laughs
"He doesn't like to be called that anymore" Andy was very out and proud in high school, in sophomore year we had to come dressed as our spirit animals one day and Andy came dressed in a flamingo costume, and since then everyone called him flaming Andy. "This is our son Sammy" I point to Sammy
"Oh my god he's adorable!" She waves at Sammy who quickly looks away
"He's very shy." We sit at my table catching up "how have you been since high school?"
"Great! After college I moved to South America to work for a nonprofit for awhile, then I came back and started a charity and I've just been doing that since"
"Wow that's amazing!"
"Thank you. What about you star kicker? Do you still play?"
"In college I did for a while but Andy and I had to get practically so I ended up getting my degree in business"
"Wow Paul Renwick working business, I didn't think I'd ever see the day! I remember when we were together all you ever talked about was football"
"Yeah if teenage me could see me now" "Same! I'd probably hate me" she laughs "Stop you look amazing!"
"You think so? Thank you! So how's Andy? Is he here with you?" "Yeah he's inside with Jenna I think"
"Can you believe Jenna and Phil are getting married?!"
"I'm literally sitting at their wedding and I don't believe it" we laugh
"Oh my god they were so crazy in high school, remember when Jenna threw that brick through his windshield that night during your party?"
"Oh yeah! She thought he was cheating with... umm what was her name again?" I think "Shelby! Shelby Declan"
"Shelby Declan" I remember her "that girl was something else, when I came out senior year Kevin and Will paid Shelby to turn me back" I laugh
"What?! I didn't know that!"
"We never talked about it" I laugh "but yeah we all knew what she was known for so they thought if anyone could make me straight again it'd be Shelby Declan"
"Kevin and Will were so stupid!" We laugh, Kevin and Will were my best friends in high school. "Lauren?" Andy walks up to our table
"Andy! Hey how have you been?" They hug
"I've been good, Paul didn't tell me you were coming" he looks over at me "I didn't know!" I quickly defend myself
"Wow this is weird huh? The three of us here, who would've thunk?"
"Not I" Andy picks up Sam "it's about to get started so we should probably find our seats" Andy says to me
"Ok" I stand up
"We should all catch up afterwards" Lauren says
"Yeah maybe" Andy walks away and I shrug to Lauren as I follow behind him. Lauren and Andy never liked each other in high school, Andy technically stole me away from Lauren and Lauren made our lives a living hell senior year.
